This is my response to the Biographies brief -
My intention was to create an interactive piece in which the participant becomes the central component to the piece, a experience which evokes most of the participants senses and puts them in the position of the man with the movie camera.
For this i began to learn quartz composer as i saw this as the best medium for what i wanted to purvey.
I started by selected my favourite clips from the 'Man with the movie camera' and the experimenting with Quartz, using a live video input from my webcam and applying effects to obtain certain effects.
I then created an after effects film which I would use as an overlay layer, in this I selected a quote form 1 of his manifestos and showed it beating to the timing of one of his sound pieces.
So you could read his manifesto, hear his music and feel as if you were in the man with the movie camera. These are the first test images, more to come.
